Background
for the LHMA
Preliminary
discussions have been initiated between the President of the Lebanese
Management Association (Mr Atef Jubaili) and Dr Nabil Kronfol as concerns the establishment
of a Chapter for Health Care Management within the LMA. It is
felt that this development adds positively to the mission and
activities of the LMA, as well as opens the way for professionals
in the field of Health Care Management to establish readily this
capacity. A "brief"
has been prepared by Dr Kronfol to generate
discussion as to the possible directions that this chapter may
take, in the forthcoming future. This brief has been discussed
on several occasions with the Board of the Lebanese Management
Association. The Association resolved and nominated a five-member
Executive Committee headed by Dr George Tomey
(Vice President for Administration, American University of Beirut)
to follow up on and assist in the development of the Chapter of
the Lebanese HealthCare Management Association.
